IVEY REAL ESTATE CLUB
Leading Canadian Collegiate Association Preparing the Future Leaders of Real Estate
ABOUT
The Ivey Real Estate Club (IREC) is a network of over 500 students and alumni with a shared interest in commercial real estate. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for HBA students to gain exposure to the industry through firm visits, panel discussions, and networking events with leading professionals. We also provide resources and programming to help members build technical skills, explore career paths, and prepare for internships and full-time roles. By fostering connections between students, alumni, and industry leaders, the club serves as a platform for professional development and long-term engagement in the real estate sector.

These include panel discussions with industry leaders, firm visits that provide firsthand exposure to different sectors, and our flagship Day on Bay event, which offers students the chance to engage with top firms in Toronto’s commercial real estate market. These initiatives allow members to expand their networks, gain valuable insights, and explore various career paths within the industry.
Networking
Recruitment
We provide tailored resources to help members prepare for internships and full-time roles in real estate. This includes resume and cover letter workshops, interview preparation sessions, and guidance on navigating the recruitment process across investment banking, brokerage, development, and asset management. By leveraging our alumni network and firm relationships, we ensure students have access to the tools and connections needed to succeed in a competitive recruiting environment.
Firm Partnerships
IREC maintains partnerships with over 15 leading real estate firms that actively support our initiatives. These partnerships enable us to deliver high-impact events such as networking sessions, office visits, and case-based workshops while providing students with unique learning opportunities. Through these collaborations, members gain direct exposure to top employers, develop professional relationships, and access pathways to internships and full-time roles in the commercial real estate industry.
Mentorship
We connect members with alumni and industry professionals through a structured mentorship program designed to provide personalized guidance. Mentors support students by offering insights into career development, building technical skills, and navigating the challenges of entering the real estate industry. This program allows members to learn directly from experienced professionals, fostering meaningful relationships that support both personal growth and long-term career success.
